Meet the woman behind the magic, our fantastic coach and mentor, Julia Collins! Julia began her riding career at the age of 7. She showed extensively from Walk-Trot through the Regular Working Hunters at USEF-level shows. A big focus was bringing along green ponies and OTTB’s, prepping them for and in the show arena. She founded Over The River Farm 23 years ago and has impacted the drive, hearts and skills of her riders and horses ever since. You can catch her riders competing regularly at Tryon International Equestrian Center as well as in several schooling shows per year. Three years ago Julia started with WCU and IHSA and has thoroughly enjoyed it! As she tells everyone who will listen..."the wonderful thing about Equitation is that it truly represents the function of form.” She is a huge fan of IHSA due to its ability to enable riders to start, or continue to pursue a riding career during college.
