Acceptance of Terms
By downloading or using What Note? (the "App"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App.
Description of the Service
What Note? is an ear training and piano note recognition app designed to help users practice identifying piano notes by listening to sounds and selecting the correct keyboard note. The App may include features such as:
Piano note listening quizzes
Single-note and multi-note practice
Keyboard note selection such as C, D, E, and other musical notes
Normal keyboard and full keyboard modes
Portrait screen and wide keyboard display modes
Score, accuracy, streak, progress, or result tracking, if available
Sound and/or vibration feedback, if supported and enabled
Saved results, recent records, or local practice history, if available
Optional notification features for practice reminders, if available
Optional copy, export, or share features for practice results, if available
The App is provided "as is" for personal and non-commercial music practice use.
Permissions and Device Features
What Note? is designed to work without requiring account sign-in. Depending on your device and enabled features, the App may request access to certain device permissions or system features, such as:
Internet access, for ads, billing, analytics, crash reporting, or optional remote content
Audio-related device features, for piano note playback, quiz sounds, and sound feedback
Notification access, for practice reminders, if supported and enabled
Vibration access, for haptic feedback, if supported and enabled
Photos / Media / Storage access, only if the App provides save, export, screenshot, or share features that require file access
The App does not require microphone access for its core note quiz functionality. If you deny required permissions, some features may not function properly or may be unavailable.
User Responsibilities
You agree to use the App only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You must not:
Reverse engineer, decompile, or modify any part of the App
Use the App to distribute malware, spam, or harmful content
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the App's data or systems
Misuse the App, advertisements, billing features, or reward-based features
Use the App in a way that infringes the rights of others
Copy, extract, redistribute, or commercially reuse App sounds, graphics, layouts, or other content without permission
You are solely responsible for how you use the App and for any content, results, screenshots, practice records, or saved items you choose to save, export, copy, or share from the App.
Music Practice and Accuracy Disclaimer
What Note? is provided as a general ear training, note recognition, and music practice tool for convenience only. While we aim to provide a reliable experience, we do not guarantee that all sounds, note labels, scores, saved records, quiz results, or app behavior will always be accurate or error-free in all situations.
Audio playback and note perception may be affected by factors such as device speakers, headphones, Bluetooth or wireless audio delay, device audio settings, operating system behavior, background apps, device performance, and listening environment.
The App is not intended to provide official music certification, professional audio analysis, hearing diagnosis, medical advice, or guaranteed musical training results. You are responsible for verifying any important music, training, or educational results before relying on them. Flowbit Labs is not responsible for decisions or outcomes based on information shown, played, or stored in the App.
Advertisements and Purchases
The free version of the App may display advertisements through Google AdMob or similar third-party networks. We may also offer:
In-app purchases to remove ads or unlock premium features, if applicable
Rewarded ads that may temporarily unlock benefits or extra features, if applicable
Optional paid content or feature unlocks, if applicable
All purchases are handled through the official Google Play Store billing system, and refunds are processed according to Google's policies. We do not provide direct refunds outside of what is supported by Google Play.
Disclaimer of Warranties
The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the App will always function without interruption, error, defect, sound issue, scoring issue, data loss, or compatibility issue, or that any issues will be corrected immediately. Use of the App is at your own risk.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Flowbit Labs is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from:
Your use or inability to use the App
Any inaccurate note sound, note label, answer result, score, accuracy record, progress record, or saved result
Any loss of local practice history, scores, streaks, settings, cached data, preferences, or saved records due to device issues, OS updates, storage limitations, permission changes, or app crashes
Any audio playback, display mode, keyboard layout, export, sharing, notification, billing, or advertisement-related issues
Any actions or failures of third-party services such as advertising networks, analytics providers, crash reporting tools, sharing components, notification services, or billing services
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability, so some of the above limitations may not apply to you.
Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time, without prior notice, if you violate these Terms or misuse the service. You may also stop using and uninstall the App at any time.
Updates and Changes
We may update or modify these Terms from time to time. The updated version will take effect once it is posted with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App after such updates means you accept the revised Terms.
We may also update the App itself, for example through new features, bug fixes, UI changes, sound changes, note quiz changes, scoring adjustments, keyboard mode changes, performance improvements, compatibility updates, or advertisement-related updates.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Korea, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
