Our Guardian Family Program is a unique opportunity open to local families in British Columbia, Canada, from Hope to Vancouver. We take a lot of pride in raising our dogs and only want the very best for each and every one of them. Our Guardian Family Program was created to allow families the opportunity to bring home a What a good dog puppy, selected by us at What a good dog at no cost, in exchange for bringing the dog to some specific appointments, and helping raise and care for our breeding dogs.
What a good dog pup will live with you and your family, and when it becomes of age, it will be part of our breeding program for a select number of litters. This requires the guardian family to spend some time bringing the dog to our home during the breeding and delivery process. Once the dog has completed its time in our breeding program, it is the Breeder’s responsibility to spay/neuter the dog. Once this is complete, we can then sign over ownership to you and your family - furever!
If you are selected for our Guardian Family Program, both What a good dog and the selected family will sign a contract outlining all of the details and timelines to ensure everyone is on the same page.
We hold our Guardian Family Program very close to our hearts, it is extremely important to us that the families chosen for this program communicate with us regularly and we all come together to raise a happy, healthy dog. We're looking for flexible candidates who understand the importance of advancing our genetic lines of therapy-grade temperament dogs.
Your first step in becoming a What a good dog Guardian Family is telling us a bit about yourself, and your preferences! If you’ve gotten this far, we can tell you’ve thought enough about your decision. Please share as much as you’d like! We will work closely with you throughout this process. Feel free to email us as well for any further questions you may have.
If you would like to apply, we require a short over-the-phone interview. Below are the simple questions I ask. Email and phone number are provided at the bottom of the page.
