What is Erectile Dysfunction ?

Erectile dysfunction is a disorder in which a person who is engaged in sexual activity is unable to obtain an erection and to sustain it. Even after stimulation, the penis of the man is loose and is not able to penetrate the vagina of the female partner.

It was usually seen previously in older people, but today, due to major changes in lifestyle, hectic schedule and elevated stress, the disorder is now also more commonly seen in young men.

It is a common disorder that is evidenced by the sales and popularity of different medications for impotence, both in allopathic and ayurvedic therapy.

It is also very common to see men between the ages of 19 and 40 who experience erectile dysfunction caused by prolonged use of sildenafil citrate (Viagra) as a recreational substance abuse that causes these drugs to be dependent and addicted.

The existence of both physical and psychological disorders characterises Erectile Dysfunction as a complex disorder. The disorder is generalised, but the patient does not visit the doctor due to shame. In addition to this suffering, the patient turns towards self-medication and the disease further worsens.

How is ED Common?

How Common is Erectile Dysfunction

The risk of developing Erectile Dysfunction is greater for elderly people.

However, because of a sedentary lifestyle, and emotional as well as physical discomfort, the disorder is often widely seen in young people.

Approximately 6-7 percent of individuals in the age group of 20-30 years suffer from this disorder, which rises to around 50-70 percent in individuals in the 40-80 age group.

What are the Erectile Dysfunction Symptoms ?

The signs of erectile dysfunction below are:

1) Loose penis: Due to different causes, such as decreased blood flow, trauma or nerve issues, the penis of the patient suffering from erectile dysfunction is loose and thin.

2) Difficulty in achieving erection: The erectile dysfunction patient is unable to produce an erection, although the patient may be willing to perform sexual intercourse.

3) Trouble maintaining erection: While the patient may be able to obtain an erection by some means, such as increased stimulation, due to the underlying disorder, the patient is not able to sustain an erection in order to conduct subsequent sexual activity.

4) Failure to penetrate the vagina: To conduct sexual intercourse, an erection in the penis is sufficient. The magnitude of erectile dysfunction depends on whether the penis is capable of entering the vagina. It is unlikely for the loose and non-erected penis to find its way into the vagina.

5) Decreased sexual desire: Low libido and low sexual desire are eventually produced by a patient suffering from chronic erectile dysfunction.

6) Poor sexual satisfaction: The patient with erectile dysfunction is unable to satisfy his female partner fully. This may result in sour relationships, extra-marital affairs, and humiliation and can lead to depression for the patient.

7) Infertility: Infertility is also a sign of erectile dysfunction, since velocity should be inserted into the vagina to fertilize with eggs in order to achieve pregnancy. Patients with erectile dysfunction are unable to penetrate the vagina and may experience male infertility as a result.

How does life affect Erectile Dysfunction ?

For the following factors, a patient suffering from erectile dysfunction has a difficult life:

1) Emotional stress: A large amount of stress and depression are triggered by erectile dysfunction. When carrying out sexual activity, the patient can also experience performance anxiety.

2) Humiliation or loss of confidence: Low morale is often triggered by patients with erectile dysfunction, shattering self-confidence and causing public embarrassment.

3) Sour relationships: Due to erectile dysfunction, the relationship between partners becomes sour. This could be due to the male partner who is unable to perform in bed being annoyed.

4) Infertility: Infertility can also result from erectile dysfunction. It should therefore be recommended that one of the best sexologists, who treat erectile dysfunction by using ayurvedic or allopathic medicines that are healthy and successful when taken under proper guidance, should treat the disorder.

5) Unsatisfactory sexual life: If the couple does not enjoy sexual intercourse, the couple has an unsatisfactory sexual life.
