"Let's Go Fly a Kite" is a song from Walt Disney's 1964 film Mary Poppins, composed by Richard M. Sherman and Robert B. Sherman.[1] This song is performed at the end of the film when George Banks (played by David Tomlinson), realizes that his family is much more important than his job. He mends his son's kite and takes his family on a kite-flying outing. The song is sung by Tomlinson, Dick Van Dyke and eventually the entire chorus.

Although the notion of Mary Poppins gliding down a kite is mentioned incidentally in one of the P.L. Travers books, the metaphor of the mended kite (being a symbol of the mended Banks family) is taken from the 1961 Sherman Brothers screenplay treatment. The song was inspired by the Sherman Brothers' father, Al Sherman, who besides being a well-known songwriter in his day was also an amateur kite maker who made kites for neighbourhood children as a weekend hobby.

The song appears in the 2004 stage musical version as well, but closer to the middle of the show and not at the show's end. In this version, the scene recreates what happens at the beginning of the second book when Mary Poppins came back on the string of Michael's kite.

It is often rumoured that Walt Disney had asked his songwriters to write a song about a kite because of his two daughters. Both of his daughters are members of the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority and their symbol is a kite. The song "Let's Go Fly a Kite" is sometimes believed to be dedicated to Kappa Alpha Theta.

June finds a little dragon kite flying toward her and she shows the team a picture of the Dragon Kite Parade in The Great Wall of China. But there are 2 problems: First, the little dragon kite is afraid of flying high. Second, the dragon kites on the picture are missing, because they were kidnapped by bad Chinese Warriors and they locked the kites up in different places: The Forbidden City, Yangtze River and the snowy mountain called Karakoram 2 (K2), by the order of their cruel, Musical Chinese emperor to ban the parade forever! So the team must find the missing dragon kites, help their friend overcome her fear and show the Cruel, musical Chinese Emperor that he was wrong of banning the parade.

And soon, June hears the Dragon Kite in which scares her and June apologize to the Little Dragon about startling her and soon, the rest of the team came over which also startle by a Little Kite. But June introduces her new friend, Little Dragon Kite and she gave June a note of the Kite Parade that happened at the Great Wall of China which is today and so, June tells that there are three blue kites, two yellow kites, and one orange emperor kite. Unfortunately, the dragon kites vanished from the note and reveals that it was missing and Dragon Kite tells June that all of the Dragon Kites are missing, because the Bad Chinese Warriors kidnapped them and locked them up in different places by the order of their cruel, musical Chinese emperor to ban the parade forever! Leo told everyone that they have to find all of the Dragon Kites and bring them to the Great Wall of China in time for the kite parade and show the Cruel Chinese Emperor that he was wrong of banning the parade before it's too late! Soon, they all run to the tree entrance and head down to the Rocket Room while June is sliding down the slide with Little Dragon Kite. Once in the Rocket Room, June introduces Little Dragon Kites to Rocket, unfortunately, Little Dragon Kite has acrophobia as the whole team told them. Soon, Little Dragon Kite will try to overcome his acrophobia and flies outside with Rocket by tie with a string around Rocket's antenna. Soon, they all board Rocket, buckle their seatbelts, do the pat sequence, and Blast off.

Meanwhile, June asks Little Dragon Kite about flying outside with Rocket and June told everyone that Little Dragon Kite covers her eyes with her tail, and even though she has acrophobia, she still needs to rescue all 6 dragon kites and get them to the Great Wall of China in time for the kite parade before it's too late! First, Annie sang the kite parade song, them the rest of the team sang the kite parade.

TRUDEAU: He's an Italian composer working mostly in Great Britain. He's been scoring film since '94. We've talked about him before. He did the score to "Pride and Prejudice" two years ago. He's a composer. He mixes a romantic outlook with a modern composer's tools in this particular score, which is a romantic story with tragic overtones.

TRUDEAU: Just for the record, the composer says he used a 1930 Corona typewriter. This is a wonderful score, rich with invention and ideas. Here's an excerpt I really like. It involves the orchestra and a soldier's chorus. When this section begins each is going in its own melodic direction. But as it progresses the orchestra slides under the chorus and becomes accompaniment to it.

TRUDEAU: He's a Spanish composer - very active in Europe - and writing film music since 1984. We have previously encountered him here with his score for "The Constant Gardener," which had an African setting. He seems to be the one to call when you want a score that will combine the dramatic power of a Western symphony orchestra with the exotic colorings of a non-Western culture.

TRUDEAU: This is a score just filled with wonderful moments that really come out when you can just listen to the score. And there are times really you just want to kick back and listen as the composer weaves the various threads together. This is a cue just to listen and enjoy as it bubbles along. be457b7860
