Lathe Resto

Craftsman 12-inch Wood Lathe, Model 113 series.

Purchased older, long unused lathe.

Taken completely apart. Removed surface rust with wire wheel. Replaced belt. Purchased replacement belt cover (thanks eBay!).

Made hinged assembly to allow for quick release of motor end of belt for speed adjustment.

Purchased new tail stock center point (with bearing). Old centerpoint cleaned up, but did not have a bearing and squealed loudly when spinning.

Painted metal parts with charcoal Rust-o-leum enamel, sprayed base with Glide-cote and lubricated all parts per manual.

Looking forward to learning how to lathe on this tool!
