Our next meeting is September 23, 2024!
Gallery of All Public Crypto Club Activities!
Pictured above is a fun activity: Marshmellow stacking.
Students first built marshmallow towers using 1 marshmallow as a base (vertical stacking). It was really easy for the towers to topple.
Students then built towers using a base of many marshmallows (pyramid shape). It was strong base, hard to shake, and even if a few marshmallows collapsed, the entire tower still stood.
This activity highlighted the benefits of decentralization and blockchain. When the gov (or any centralized actor) has control of the currency, any decision they make (print more money... engage in trade war..) can topple the entire system. A decentralized system is not owned by any 1 entity, and thus is more secure and safe.
Pictured to the left is a meeting recap slides on ZK proofs.
We discussed what ZK proofs are, how they work, and applications in AI, robotics, healthcare and more.
We played fun puzzles to try to show Zero-Knowledge proofs in action!
Founders Romir and Shrey had the opportunity to attend the University of Texas Blockchain and Startup Incubator Meeting where they were exposed to many people, startups, and communities related to blockchain computer science and crypto. The club was grateful for the experience and were heavily inspired. We hope to continue attending meetings!
