About Westwood Red Cross
The Westwood Red Cross Club was founded in the 2020-2021 school year as a chapter of the American Red Cross. As highs school Red Cross volunteers, we work to make the world and our own society a safer place through community volunteering. We help Red Cross send aid to cities in need, as well as serving in direct or support service, fundraising, consulting and advisory roles.
Westwood Red Cross is dedicated to giving people opportunities to help the community, and members are able to volunteer in various events organized by the American Red Cross or attend seminars to further develop their knowledge of both medicine and humanitarian aid. Members learn skills such as disaster preparedness or humanitarian law, assist in disaster relief efforts, and have the opportunity to socialize with other like-minded, driven people.
Throughout the year, Westwood Red Cross organizes different activities benefiting both our society and the American Red Cross. Some examples of club activities include service to the Armed Forces - such as Thank-A-Hero - running blood drives for the Blood Services department, and fundraising. Check out our calendar to see upcoming general events, and take a look at the official American Red Cross website for more information.
