Mike Ratcliffe.
Mike has had his much-needed operation at last and we wish him a speedy recovery. Mike and Sally are much in
our thoughts and prayers.
Phakamisa (a Zulu word meaning to uplift)
Zethu Kuzwayo, Director of Phakamisa SA, came to the church last month to tell us about the work. They give under privileged children an education and provide meals. There are training courses for adults in sewing, beadwork, cooking, gardening and an early childhood development programme and more.
There are leaflets in church if you want to learn more. Donations can be made via www.phakamisa.org.
ALPHA for Church Members
If you feel you need a refresher about the Christian faith, or would want to help at Alpha courses in the future, please come to all or some of the evenings at West Town. 7.30pm on Wednesdays 15thy, 22nd and 29th October.
Harvest Festival
The church looked so colourful, with flower arrangements and harvest gifts arranged by a team of volunteers on Saturday.
On Sunday Sally led our Harvest Festival Café Service, which was followed by a lunch of soup, rolls and cheeses then a choice of sweets, prepared by another team led by Sarah and Heather.
Non perishable produce was collected for Turnaround, Bristol and monetary donations were also given. Our grateful thanks go to all who decorated the church, provided lunch, and gave produce and money to Turnaround
