Turnaround
It has been a busy few months, with the demand for showers, laundry, clothing and food continuing to grow. Other services have closed, alongside Turnaround becoming more widely known – especially after an appearance on Songs of Praise. Several guests have moved into accommodation, with the right support. Alcoholics Anonymous has added to the growing number of organisations working from the centre. They have also been operating as a designated ‘Heat SWEP Cool Space’.
A box for food requirements will be in church for our Harvest.
The Hub - Monday mornings, 10.00 a.m. – 12 noon, where a warm welcome awaits you, with a cuppa and a chat.
We are currently collecting for the Nepal Appeal.
Backwell Prayer Group - Monday 7 September at St. Andrew's. 7.15p.m. for a 7.30p.m. start.

The Editor, Jane, is moving later this year, so the magazine will need a new Editor, and also a Treasurer, Advertising Manager and Distribution Manager! Applicants need to engage with I.T. If anyone can help in any way please contact Jane.
I was throwing out some old paperwork and came across this poem which I wrote for Harvest 2005! Still seems very relevant:
In the beginning, there was soil, sea and sun
An awesome Creation – good work had been done
Then God made Man – who, though carefully taught
Became selfish and greedy, and soon all was fraught
with revenge, retribution
poverty and pollution
God gave us perfection, including his Son
Now look at this World –
what on earth have we done!
