CIRCUIT MINISTRY:
Restructuring -There was an Extraordinary Circuit Meeting on July 8th at Redcliffe Bay when changes to the Gordano Valley Circuit were discussed. The key considerations were:-
That the circuit finances are not sufficient to enable us to have three full time presbyters.
That there is a severe shortage of full-time presbyters and an even more severe shortage of superintendents.
That the circuit finances should be sufficient to fund two full-time and one half-time presbyter.
That the current circuit configuration arrangement whereby Yatton is in the same section as West Town and Nailsea is not conducive to growing the churches.
The results of the discussions were conveyed to the eight Churches and were announced from the pulpits on July 12th.
Rev. Sally Ratcliffe will move to the Clevedon manse in August 2027 and will commence her new appointment on 1.9.27. The Stationing process for the new Minster for Nailsea and Backwell will commence at a meeting on August 20th to put together a draft profile. This will be sent to the district Chair for comment. The circuit profile will be finalised on Sept. 7th. It will then be sent out to Circuit Meeting members for agreement at the CM on Sept. 16th. The agreed Circuit Profile will then be sent to the District Chair. The Stationing Matching Group will meet between 9th-12th November with visits taking place between 14th- 29th November.

The envelope collection amounted to £20, and the church has added a further £30.
Turnaround
It has been a busy few months, with the demand for showers, laundry, clothing and food continuing to grow. Other services have closed, alongside Turnaround becoming more widely known – especially after an appearance on Songs of Praise. Several guests have moved into accommodation, with the right support. Alcoholics Anonymous has added to the growing number of organisations working from the centre. They have also been operating as a designated ‘Heat SWEP Cool Space’.
A box for food requirements will be in church for our Harvest.
