The Air Force. I went into JROTC, and based on being in it for 2 years, going into the Air Force sounds like the safest choose cause they also have more benefits and see less fighting than the other branches. My dad served, and my grandfather served, so I choose to go into the military.
Well, I’m taking JROTC in Chopticon High School. I’m also hoping to learn engineering so I can be more open to different positions in the Air Force. I’ve just been on the normal class schedule, but I did join color guard last year as an after-school activity to further my education. I learned the correct way to march and the types of marching, how to hold a flag and how to hold a rifle and their movements, but I do not know if it will be on the ASVAB.
The only extracurricular activity was color guard, and I did go to one event, and I performed well by following the orders correctly and executing them. Not really much cause I do not have much to do outside of school, but I do know a lot about electronics, and if I run into a problem, I can most likely figure it out on my own. I have only had one job so far, and it was working at a wedding and helping distribute the food and glasses. I learned that you should not do more than what you are told to do.
I believe people will probably feel safer knowing that an active-duty member is part of their community and will probably help out people. There will most likely be people thanking me for my service. Not really much; I plan to go in the military for 3 years, get free college, and leave. Most likely not cause I’m striving to never see any war-related events so I can stay safe.
