Making a difference one dress at a time! In 2022 we sewed 100 dresses. They were blessed by Rev. Keith Inouye in the Spring and Rev. John Oda in the Fall. The dresses made their way to Egypt, the Honduras, Mexico, and the Phiippines, In January 2023, some dresses even ended up in the Ivory Coast!

Showing God's love to our Grant School neighbors. Giving encouragement and hope in a world that is sometimes difficult to survive in. We are blessed to be able to give, more than they are blessed to receive.
G.E.M. is a nonprofit organization located in Dallas, Texas. It stands for "Girls Embracing Mothers" in prison. A monetary donation was sent to them and also 70 no sew fleece heart kits for their "Art Therapy" program. G.E.M.'s work aligns closely with the National UWF's core commitment in "Ending Mass Incaceration and Interrupting the School -to-Prison Pipeline." (2/14/2023)

Wesley Treasures Event
May 7th, 2023
The Wesley UWF held its first Wesley Treasures Event. The majority of items sold were unique and vintage jewelry, fine crystal, Japanese dishes/dolls and framed artwork. The event was deemed a success! Funds raised will go towards supporting local, national, and worldwide mission programs.
The Wesley UWF held their annual Rummage Sale, June 8th, 2024. Folks got to clean out their closets, the surrounding community (many low income) received wonderful bargains, the proceeds went to missions, and multiple organizations benefited from the leftovers.
Fun fellowship is always enjoyed....working together for a good cause.
Follow-up to the G.E.M. Organization project (February 2023) our Wesley UWF participated in.
We put together 70 fleece heart kits for an art therapy program at a Gatesville prison in Texas.
Love in action can take many forms.
No act of kindness is too small.
Wesley UMC on August 21, 2023 for a workshop
Sponsored by our Wesley UWF
The Wesley UWF hosted a presentation and workshop with Katherine Parker. She has been a missionary in Nepal for the past 10 years and is part of the General Board of Global Ministries of the United Methodist Church. She is also an advisor with the United Mission to Nepal. Katherine's main focus are: Adolescent empowerment, including sexual reproductive health and rights, mental health, menstrual hygiene, dignity for migrant workers, and water, sanitation and hygiene.
The workshop portion of the event involved making reusable/washable menstrual products for women & girls. Modern products can be purchased in Nepal, but they are very expensive. The workshop attendees sewed & assembled washable panty-shields with leak-proof barrier and insert liners that can be changed out as needed....an environmentally friendly idea. 41 shields and 78 liners were produced.
