My recent project was the Forgiveness Project. This involves using small amounts (some call scraps) of yarn from my mother's stash. I add in yarn from my friends mother's stash. Both of these beautiful women have passed away, I use their yarn in homage to all the useful things they created in their life time. I'm creating cat/pet mats in a simple granny square pattern. My zero waste concept for this project is to sew in the end at the start of the row. I crochet until all the yarn is used, no matter where I am in the pattern. When I finish a colour I collect the ends that remain and use these for wool scratch balls.
The finished articles are a variety of sizes and these items have been donated to the local animal rescue shelter where my pet escaped while in boarding. This is part of my letting go and forgiveness of other's actions in the event that impacted our family.
