Wensong Zhong is an Assistant Professor in Finance at Augusta University James M. Hull College of Business. He is also a CFA charterholder. Before joining Augusta University, Zhong was a Visiting Assistant Professor at Sam M. Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas.
His research interests are in the area of labor and finance, corporate finance, private equity, and asset pricing. His dissertation focuses on the issue of the impact of PE buyout on the employees' pension plan at the target firms. His work also includes the import competition and labor share, ESG, and healthcare benefits.
Zhong earned a PhD in Finance from the Lundquist College of Business at the University of Oregon. He also holds a BE degree in Chemical Engineering (with honor) dual in Economics from the Beijing Institute of Technology, and a MSc degree in Finance and a MSc degree in Business Administration and Risk Management from the Carey Business School at the Johns Hopkins University.
He taught finance courses at the undergraduate level at the Lundquist College of Business at the University of Oregon and has received the Robin & Roger Best Teaching Award in 2023.
