I am a Specially Appointed Assistant Professor at the Hitotsubashi Institute for Advanced Study (HIAS), Hitotsubashi University, where I also serve as a concurrent staff member at the Institute of Economic Research (IER). I hold a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Nottingham, UK. Prior to my doctoral studies, I spent a decade in Australia, earning an MBA in Finance from the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), as well as a B.Sc. in Mathematical Statistics (First Class Honours) and a B.A. in Economics and Social Science from the University of Sydney.
My research focuses on International Macroeconomics and Monetary Economics. My doctoral dissertation examined exchange rate predictability through macroeconomic fundamentals in both advanced and developing economies. My current research interests extend to international currencies, with a particular emphasis on the internationalization of the Renminbi (RMB).
Having previously served as a middle school English teacher in a rural, impoverished region of China, I maintain a strong commitment to development issues. I am eager to provide academic assistance or collaborate with scholars researching poverty alleviation and socioeconomic challenges in developing nations.
