Wendell Lab

Welcome!

The Wendell Lab group is headed by Dr. Kristen Wendell, an associate professor with appointments in the Mechanical Engineering and Education departments at Tufts University. We are housed in Tufts' Center for Engineering Education and Outreach (CEEO).

Our goal is to transform engineering learning environments into inclusive knowledge-building communities. We develop tools, approaches, and learning theories that help all learners engage in expansive disciplinary practices and construct engineering knowledge that is meaningful to them. We build theory as we develop and iterate on curriculum materials, pedagogical techniques, and classroom resources, and we use mainly qualitative analytical techniques to answer our research questions.
