The object of this site is to give researchers access to the “Wendel Brown & Descendants” journals. They were published in the middle of 1980 and only six volumes were published. The journals will not answer all of your questions about Johan Wendel Braun and his descendants, that is for you to research. What they will do is give you an insight into the work that has been done in the past, buy two passionate Brown descendants. You will be able to build on the foundation that has been established.
When the journals were first conceived and published the internet was slim. Now the progress of computers and online data has blossomed, by publishing them online the journals will reach more families.
As the owner of this site I am planning on publishing as many of the sources as I can find. I am always looking for more sources that prove or disprove any of the theories located within the journal.
Read the “Introductory Issue” of the Brown Journals first. This single booklet was sent with the collection to help introduce you to the entire journal.
Please remember this is a work in progress.
Just click on the image you wish to view. It will enlarge for easy reading. You may download or print it.
Be patient. The images are large and may be slow to load. This was done so it would be easier to read and print.
At the end of each journal I am hoping to place a pdf of the notes that were included in that particular journal. There is a place provided for the link, so keep an eye out for the pdfs. On the pdfs I will try to link you to the actual record that is referenced. Some of the records I will not be able to find since they are in the holding of both of the editors. This will continue to be a work in progress.
