I am generally delighted with the app. It controls 3 outside lights on a house 250 miles from our permanent residence. It does the Wemo App for Computer without the slightest problem day in, day out. The app and associated switches are cheap and reliable. The only quibble I had was that one of the switches was quite balky in connecting to the home network. I did finally get it up and running, and no problems since.

I have Wemo plug and it works fine. My house has wifi mesh around. I've always stayed connected never had a problem. Even when I'm out of town or even out of country it always turn on and off. I don't know what everybody else is doing wrong the only thing I can think is they don't have a good Wi-Fi coverage in their homes.

Not sure what all the low ratings & complaints are about. Everything running well for me once installation & firmware updates were complete (light switch did seem to be a bit stubborn in updating its firmware; plugs worked more seamlessly)._____ Very rarely will not show correct status of lights (app will show "off" when they are actually on). Refreshing &/or exiting app doesn't seem to help. I simply have to turn the light/plug on in the app & then it will turn off when toggled off in app.

In the past my Wemo devices would fall off the network and would require a power cycle to regain communication. I'm not sure what changed but since the end of 2020 they are now incredibly reliable and I added another 9 devices (total 13) in my house. I've only experienced one Mini switch that lost connectivity in the last 3 months, and that was resolved with a pending firmware update.

Setup of a smart plug is extremely finicky, easiest way is to put on airplane mode, turn on wifi, forget any 5ghz networks, connect to 2.4ghz and proceed with setup. App needs some serious work, restoring from background locks up main thread. UPDATE: 2/15/21 - App seems to have been updated to fix these issues, my most recent setup took way less time and worked the first try. Overall installing the Wemo App for PC app has really helped out in many works and benefited in a long way too.
