After almost 7 years, I’ve decided to close the doors of We Make-You Bake.
I can go into the million little reasons that have made running a business challenging (cost of goods, rising fees with processing systems, tough economy) but honestly, it’s two main factors.
When I started the business, it was just my husband and I. Now, I have two little boys who are growing up right in front of my eyes. While running my own business is amazing, the hours are extensive.
I’ve known a change would come eventually, but really didn’t think it would happen so quickly. I love what I do and I wasn’t going to walk away for just any job.
*Enter the perfect opportunity*
I’ve found a new career that allows me to continue using my planning skills while providing experiences to the community and getting to work in a team!
So, what’s next?
Freezer meal pre-orders
I will offer two more pre-orders windows for the year with Monday pick ups removed. I’ll try to hit all the favorites before closing up! The last two menus will be posted November 5th (due November 12th) and December 3rd (due December 10th). And yes, holiday treat boxes will be offered on our final menu. Keep your eyes on our Facebook page to keep track of the adjusted schedule.
Grab and Go
November 14th will be the last day the fridge at the Fitness Center is stocked.
The opportunity to collaborate with Riverside Health Fitness Center has been the best experience I could ever have imagined and will be forever grateful the opportunity they provided for the business to grow.
New York City Deli
Providing soups to a fellow local business has been one of the coolest expansions that we stumbled into. I’m incredibly thankful to Stephen for looping us in. November 12th will be the last day our soup is offered in the deli.
It will take awhile to wrap up all the pieces (and feel all the emotions), but I hope I can express to every person who has supported the business over the years how grateful I am that I was able see this dream to its conclusion and experience a career path I never imagined for myself. I could not have done it without each of you.
For those who want to continue following my story, do not worry- I am not going far. You’re looking at Bourbonnais Township Park District’s new youth and adult athletics supervisor and event coordinator.
