So You Want To Light Your Building Up?

On September 1st, 2020 between 9pm and Midnight, Theaters and Live Event Venues all across the Bay Area are Lighting Up Red to Show the RED ALERT the Live Events Industry is in as a result of COVID-19

Lighting

If your Venue has an exterior wall or facade, light it up Red to show your support! The official color for the event is double Roscolux R26, if possible. Venues are encouraged to provide their own equipment and staff for the event, but production resources and event staff are available all across the Bay Area given advanced notice. If possible, please project the event logo on the exterior of your venue as well! B-Size Gobos can be provided in either the #RedAlertRESTART or #WEMAKEEVENTS templates. Please contact Norm Schwab or Krissy Kenny at wemakeevents@lightswitch.net for gobos, template holders, and projectors if necessary.

If you have LED Screens and can use them for the event, we have Logo artwork available for 16x9 and Banner/Blade signage available here:

Time

The official time to have the lighting go LIVE will be 9pm to Midnight on Tuesday, September 1st.

Social Media

We encourage all venues to have their lighting lit by 8pm to allow any last minute adjustments and to hopefully get some shots for Social Media out early. Pleas upload your photos to the form linked below, as well as post on social media using the hashtags at the bottom of the page!

Want to Participate, But Don't Have A Facade?

Submit a Photo of your empty venue with only the Ghost Light on!

Lighting

If your venue does not have an exterior wall, or your venue will not be available for the day-of event, you can still participate!

Snap a photo of your empty venue (or venues) with the Ghost Light on stage (see below for sample photos). We are trying to curate high-quality photos, so please contact Krissy Kenny at wemakeevents@lightswitch.net to schedule a photographer to come to your venue.

Time

Any time that works for you up until end-of-day on Tuesday, September 1st. The shoots tend to last about 10 minutes per venue.
