The first time we saw his smile. It was love at first sight - perfect visual, beautiful smile that can warm everyone's hearts, too handsome to be real, too good to be true yet we want to protect that smile so the world can witness how beautiful that smile is for a long time. Those canine teeth, an imperfection that made him perfect, and make his smile a little more beautiful. The first time you'll see him you won't be able to stop thinking about him, we may sound typical but his visuals are mind-blowing and heart fluttering, so the first time we saw him, the first time our eyes laid on Mingyu, we fell in love.
The second time was when we got to know him better. So maybe this will be translate to we fell in love with Mingyu everyday because we honestly get to know him better each day, when he allows us to see a glimpse of his life outside the stage. He may look like your typical mysterious-silent handsome tall guy but in reality, he's a puppy, a giant puppy that can make your day everyday. He's very warm to his members and friends, and very accommodating and affectionate to his fans. He's always ready to help his members, at work, at home cleaning or about anything and listens to them especially with the younger ones. The members may clown him, but he always find it funny and also clowns himself, isn't that so charming? He is also an adorable son and brother. There's one V!Live where he cried because he misses his Grandma so much, he's a big baby boy and he's not afraid to show affection and that is a sign of courage. He's also very sweet with his fans, you know the feeling when you love a certain celebrity and you know that there's a huge gap between a fan and the artist, but with Mingyu, you can feel that you're in a two-way relationship, he's thankful for his fans just as his fans is thankful that he exists. He's a good son, a good friend, a good role model for other idols, a sincere artist for his fans and that's why every time we get to know a different side of him, we fell in love.
The third time was when we saw his passion. Mingyu is just as passionate as all other 12 members of SEVENTEEN. He's passionate about his craft as a SEVENTEEN member but he's also passionate about his love for art. As a member of SEVENTEEN, he always make it a point to show his best when performing, if he's not satisfied, he will work hard to improve, isn't that seen already? From Ah Yeah to Chilli to Happy Ending - his rapping skills have improved a lot, his vocals improved too. His lyrics writing skills also improved and you can sense his maturity and growth in his music today. You can also see his keen desire to make SEVENTEEN more known when he has individual appearances, he always makes sure to be his best self, and we are very thankful for Mingyu for working hard representing SEVENTEEN. Also, his passion about art is no joke, imagine being a busy person yet finding time for art and photography, it's because it's Mingyu, a boy who will do things that will make hime a better person. His paintings are so meaningful and it's really ironic how we can see Mingyu being a bubbly person but inside you can see that he's more than just a giant puppy we all love, he's a person with experiences, sad and happy, but all of it makes him the Kim Mingyu we love today. His eagerness to improve as an artist and his fondness about art, when we see him happy because of SEVENTEEN, music and art each time, we fell in love.
The fourth time was when Mingyu showed he can do everything to show he loves us too. Sounds cliche but when a rapper sings a ballad, we are easily mesmerized, when a lyricist composes music, it becomes one of the most unforgettable pieces of music and that's Mingyu, he does everything he can to show his love for his fans. Remember the first time he composed a song, he's so happy and excited to let us know about it, it's because If he could, he'll do it. Once he sang a ballad beautifully and we are all captivated. Mingyu is shy when it comes to singing, but he gave it a shot to give us something we won't forget, and we are very happy and proud of him, and grateful for giving us a wonderful gift that we will cherish for a lifetime. When Mingyu does something different from what he always does, we fell in love.
You know, Mingyu is like a never-ending rainbow, he's full of color with endless potentials. He's also like the sun, he warms our heart with his beautiful smile, but sometimes he's just Mingyu, a boy with a pure heart, a boy with a dream and a boy who works hard to achieve them. We may fall in love once or a countless times, but one thing is for sure, when Mingyu shines, we fall in love, always.
