Chlorthalidone

Indication:

• Hypertension

• Edema

• Use in the morning with food

Dose:

For hypertension

• Initial dose: 25 mg once daily 

• Maintenance dose: 25 mg to 100 mg once daily

• Maximum dose: 100 mg once daily

For edema

• Initial dose: 50 mg to 100 mg once daily

• Maintenance dose: 50 mg to 100 mg once daily

• Maximum dose: 200 mg once daily

Side effect:

• Dizziness

• Headache

• Increased urination

• Electrolyte imbalances(low K, Na, Mg)

• Severe skin rash

• Low blood pressure(មានអារម្មណ៍ស្រាលក្បាល)

• Kidney problems

Contraindication:

• Anuria

• Hypersensitivity(allergy to chlorthalidone, hydrochlotothiazide other thiazides, or any ingredient in the formulation)

• Eletrolyte imbalance(Low K, Na)

• Pregnancy
