When do tickets go on sale?
Tickets are on sale now at this link!
How much do tickets cost?
$180 for players ($170 for NZLARPS members) or $85 for crew ($80 for NZLARPS members). This includes participation in the game, accommodation at the camp on Friday and Saturday night, and fully-catered meals on-site.
What happens if I'm too late to get a player ticket?
If player tickets sell out, you can sign up to join a waitlist for the game. If anyone who bought a ticket is unable to come to the game, the next person on the waitlist will be offered the opportunity to buy a ticket. Alternatively, if you want to participate but no player tickets are currently available, you also have the option of signing up as crew.
Will more tickets be available?
Not for game one; there are limits to how many players we can accommodate and plan for.
What is involved in player character approval?
Fill out the character sheet template and share it with the GMs at emberslarp@gmail.com. The GM team will read every player character sheet submitted and check that it works with the setting and the story being told in Wellspring. If anything doesn't quite fit the lore or seems likely to cause you problems, we'll be in touch to discuss it. This isn't a critique - we approve characters to confirm that anything you say in your backstory is true now, or at least your character should believe it's true, and the world should acknowledge it.
As a crew member, can I send you a character concept?
In general, no; we will write characters for you as part of the world and story of the game. However, you will have an opportunity to tell us the kind of characters you might like to play, and we'll keep that in mind when we write.
I have accessibility needs or may need other accommodations to participate. Will that be ok?
We hope so! You can email us to discuss your specific needs, and we'll work to accommodate them if we can.
How will the game be handling money?
In the world of Wellspring currency is commonly used, with exchange between different citadels' coinage. However, your character's wealth won't have any mechanical effects in the game, and we won't be representing coins or requiring money as part of the game. You are welcome to include wealth, or the lack of it, in your character backstory and have that influence your roleplaying.
If I give another character a battery during a game, do they get to keep it for the next game? Do I get more?
Batteries do not persist between game events. If you end the game with extra batteries in your possession, it is assumed that you use or lose them between games. If a player chooses perks that grant them batteries at the start of a game, they will always start with those batteries regardless of how they ended the last game.
Is there a standard representation for sparkware devices and/or batteries?
Players that choose perks which give your character a sparkware device are free to represent this however you want. We encourage you to think about a prop with some kind of magic-tech/arcanopunk style, but the specifics are up to you.
Batteries, on the other hand, will be a game item with a specific representation. The GM team will share more about this closer to the first game once props have been confirmed.
Does the Force Shield perk allow a character to resist a call delivered at the same time as damage, e.g. with a weapon strike?
No, the Force Shield device only resists an instance of damage. Any call that accompanies the damage still takes effect, unless you have some other way of resisting it.
