Tara Yopp - Elementary School Teacher 

Hi there!

Thank you so much for considering me as a private teacher for your children! I'd like to share a bit about my teaching journey. I started teaching in 2013 with an outdoor education program, delivering science and Florida history classes on multi-day forest excursions with a focus on empathy & problem solving. I saw rapid personal and intellectual growth in the small group atmosphere of 5-10 children in the midst of nature's beauty. 

I acquired my Florida K-8 teaching license in 2018 and taught in a public elementary school and then a project based charter school. In these settings, with groups of almost 30 children, the classroom environment was unstable and it was impossible to provide the students with the individual attention they needed to grow and learn. I saw many children fall further and further behind intellectually, emotionally, and socially.

Driven by a desire to create an effective & meaningful small group learning environment, where children could grow as full persons in their minds, hearts, and souls, I started Wellspring Cottage School out of my home in 2021. I have been so priviledged to serve families in the Orlando area in the last couple years, and am very excited to now offer wholistic elementary education in Jacksonville! I look forward to meeting you and your children and supporting their cognitive, emotional, social, and physical growth.
