WellSight helps you monitor viewing distance and display safety reminders. This Privacy Policy explains what information WellSight processes, how it is used, and the choices you have.
Summary:
WellSight is designed to process monitoring signals on-device.
Core distance monitoring works offline and does not require an account.
Purchases/subscriptions, entitlement validation, and update checks may require an internet connection and communicate with the app store.
WellSight does not sell your data.
WellSight does not use third-party advertising SDKs.
Purpose: estimate viewing distance and show distance warnings.
What is processed: camera frames are analyzed on-device to estimate distance.
What is stored: WellSight does not need to upload camera images to function.
To decide when monitoring should run, WellSight can use Android “Usage Access” to detect which app is currently in the foreground.
What is processed: app package identifiers (e.g., com.example.app) and related usage state.
What is not collected: WellSight does not need message content, browsing content, or keystrokes.
WellSight may display overlays and notifications to present distance warnings and service status. These features are processed locally on your device.
Text-to-speech (TTS) voice alerts do not require microphone access.
If you choose to record custom voice audio (for example, a recorded name or a custom alert sound), WellSight uses the microphone only while recording.
Recorded audio (if you create it) is stored locally and is not uploaded by WellSight unless you explicitly share it.
WellSight can keep diagnostic logs on your device to help troubleshoot issues (for example, when you enable debug logging).
Logs may include technical information such as timestamps, app state, feature flags, and error messages.
Logs are stored locally. If you choose to share logs (for example, using the in-app share action), you control what is shared and with whom.
WellSight may offer Premium features via in-app purchases and/or subscriptions.
Plan options
Monthly subscription
Annual subscription
One-time lifetime purchase (often the best value over time; prices vary by region and are shown in the app store)
Free plan limits (feature caps)
Distance monitoring alerts: up to 10 per day
Continuous usage alerts: up to 2 per day
Voice alarms: up to 2 configured voice alarms without Premium (this is a configuration cap, not a daily cap)
Billing and payment processing
Purchases and subscriptions are processed by the app store (Google Play on Android, Apple App Store on iOS).
WellSight does not collect or store your full payment card details.
Store account data
The app store may provide WellSight with limited purchase information (for example: whether you have an active subscription, the product/plan identifier, and entitlement/expiration status) so the app can unlock Premium features.
WellSight may also receive a non-sensitive store identifier for reconciliation (for example, an order/transaction token) depending on platform behavior.
Entitlement checks
To keep Premium access in sync with your subscription/purchase status, WellSight may periodically check entitlements with the app store services.
Trials and renewals
If a free trial is offered, it is controlled by the app store and may automatically convert to a paid subscription unless canceled before the trial ends.
Subscriptions typically renew automatically unless canceled through your app store account.
Cancelation and refunds
You can manage or cancel your subscription from your Google Play / Apple account settings.
Refund requests and billing disputes are handled according to the app store’s policies.
No advertising use
Purchase/subscription status is used only to enable Premium features and maintain billing state, not for advertising.
We use on-device signals to:
Run distance monitoring when enabled
Personalize alerts and profiles when you choose to set them up
Provide warnings via overlays, notifications, and voice alerts
Diagnose issues when you explicitly enable and/or share diagnostics
WellSight requests only the permissions needed for its features:
CAMERA: required for distance monitoring.
FOREGROUND_SERVICE / FOREGROUND_SERVICE_CAMERA: required for reliable monitoring while other apps are open.
PACKAGE_USAGE_STATS (Usage Access): required to detect the foreground app (so monitoring can start/stop appropriately).
SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW (Display over other apps): required to show an on-screen warning overlay (if enabled).
POST_NOTIFICATIONS (or notification permission on supported Android versions): required to show foreground service and alert notifications.
RECORD_AUDIO (Microphone, optional): only used if you choose to record custom voice audio.
RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED: allows monitoring to resume after reboot only if you previously enabled it and required permissions remain granted.
WellSight does not sell your personal information.
WellSight does not share your personal information with advertisers.
WellSight may include platform libraries (for example, Android camera and on-device ML components) that run within the app to provide core functionality.
When you use purchases/subscriptions or when the app performs entitlement validation, WellSight communicates with app store services (Google Play on Android, Apple App Store on iOS).
You may choose to share diagnostics/log files using your device’s share features; this is initiated by you.
Profile data and settings are kept until you delete them in the app or uninstall the app.
Diagnostic logs (if enabled) remain on-device until you clear them using app controls (if available) or uninstall the app.
WellSight stores data in the app’s local storage. Where supported, the app relies on platform security features (such as application sandboxing and OS-level encryption) to protect stored data. No method of storage is 100% secure, but we aim to use reasonable safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the data.
You can:
Turn monitoring on/off at any time.
Revoke permissions in system settings (monitoring will stop if required permissions are missing).
Enable/disable voice alerts.
Enable/disable diagnostics and choose whether to share logs.
WellSight is intended for a general audience. If children use WellSight, they should do so with a parent or guardian’s supervision because the app may use device sensors and permissions (for example, camera access for distance monitoring and notifications/overlays for warnings), and an adult should help review and manage those settings.
Distance monitoring runs on-device and does not upload camera frames. Monitoring can be turned off at any time in the app.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
We may update this Privacy Policy as the app evolves. The “Last updated” date reflects the latest version.
For privacy questions or requests, use the in-app support/contact option or the contact details listed in the app’s Help/About section.
