I began my scientific journey at the University of Kalyani, West Bengal, where I completed my master’s degree in chemistry. With a deepening fascination for the reactivity of transition metals, I pursued doctoral research in transition metal-catalyzed carbene and nitrene chemistry under the guidance of Professor Buddhadeb Chattopadhyay at the Centre of Biomedical Research, Lucknow, with my Ph.D. degree awarded by Banaras Hindu University. Following my Ph.D., I moved to the United States to continue my research as a postdoctoral scholar in the laboratory of Professor Rudi Fasan at the University of Rochester, New York. During this period, I honed my expertise in biocatalysis and spent over two years in a highly collaborative and innovative environment. In 2023, I transitioned to the University of Texas at Dallas, where I spent two years in the same group. I joined IIT Madras as an assistant professor in 2026, and my work here continues to explore the frontiers of chemical reactivity and catalysis, guided by a passion for developing sustainable and transformative approaches in modern chemistry.
