About Me
Hello! My name is John Kenneth N. Eborde, and I am currently pursuing a degree in Bachelor of Technical-Vocational Teacher Education, Major in Computer Hardware at the Technological University of the Philippines.
As part of my professional journey, I created this E-portfolio to document and reflect on my experiences during our demonstration teaching sessions. This portfolio serves not only as a record of my growth but also as a tribute to the shared learning moments I’ve had with my classmates.
Purpose of My E-Portfolio
In this portfolio, I aim to share my personal experience as a demo teacher and my observations as an audience while watching my fellow student-teachers deliver their lessons. These experiences have allowed me to deeply reflect on our individual teaching styles, classroom management techniques, and instructional delivery methods.
By highlighting both the strengths and areas for improvement I’ve observed—not just in myself, but also in my peers—I hope to foster a culture of mutual growth and continuous learning. This reflection is not only a tool for my development as an aspiring educator, but also a contribution to helping others enhance their skills in the teaching profession.
Kinaadman
“knowledge” or “wisdom.”
Kinaadman is a Visayan term that carries a rich and profound meaning. While it is often translated as “wisdom” in English, its essence goes beyond simple intelligence or academic knowledge. Kinaadman represents a deep, lived understanding of life that comes not just from studying, but also from experiencing, observing, and reflecting. It is a kind of knowledge that matures over time, shaped by challenges, mistakes, and growth. In the Visayan and broader Filipino culture, kinaadman is not only respected but also considered a valuable trait that guides people in making thoughtful decisions and living a meaningful life.
More than just intellectual ability, kinaadman includes practical and moral wisdom. It means knowing how to handle situations wisely, how to speak with compassion, and how to act with integrity. A person with kinaadman is someone who does not just know what is right but also chooses to do it, even when it is difficult. This type of wisdom is often seen in the elders of the community, who may not have formal education but have a wealth of experience and insight. They have learned from the world around them and are able to give sound advice that helps others. In this way, kinaadman becomes something that is earned, not simply learned.
Kinaadman also refers to ancestral and cultural knowledge passed down from generation to generation. It includes traditions, beliefs, healing practices, farming methods, and spiritual values that form the foundation of Filipino identity. This kind of wisdom is often held by community leaders, healers, or babaylan, and is considered a treasure that should be preserved. In daily life, people are encouraged to listen to those with kinaadman because their guidance often leads to peace, understanding, and harmony. It is a reminder that true wisdom is not only about what you know, but also about how you use it to uplift others and live with purpose.
