Teacher Instructions

Welcome Teachers!

About this Hyperdoc.

Last update to hyperdoc: 8/5/17

I wrote this hyperdoc aimed at 5th/6th graders and up who have little experience with using technology or G Suite. Please judge the appropriateness for your own students.

  • The Engage and Explore sections of the Hyperdoc are hosted entirely on this website.
  • The Explain and Apply sections are inside the linked documents. The documents are set up as a forced copy so your students will get a copy added to their drive when they open the links at the end of the individual challenge pages on this site.
  • The Share section will need to be provided by you. The instructions for this are below.
  • This Hyperdoc does not currently have an Extend or For Fun section. If you have suggestions please let me know @mcarlingoldberg.

Teacher Instructions

You will need to provide the following items for your students:

  1. A Google Classroom assignment for the students to ADD their challenge documents to. You can also use the classroom assignment to provide the slide decks in #2-4 to your students.
  2. A collaborative slide deck for them to copy their About Me (Slides: Apply) slides into. I recommend you put your own About Me slide in too.
  3. A collaborative slide deck for them to share their screen capture of their Favorite Book Promotion Image (Docs: Explain). Make your own too!
  4. A collaborative slide deck for them to share their screen capture of their Favorite Movie Promotion Image (Docs: Apply). Make your own too!

If you don't use Google Classroom then your students can still use this Hyperdoc and share their challenge documents to you directly (student instructions in the documents). You will need to share the collaborative slide decks with them directly.

Final Product Example

Welcome to gSuite Sample Deck
  • Slide 1: Google Slides Challenge Example - About Me slide.
  • Slide 2: Google Docs Challenge Example - Explain Section
    • Apply should look somewhat similar to slide 2 but about a movie.
