Nunzio DeFilippis and Christina Weir are a writing team who have worked in comics, television, film and videogames. They were on the writing staff of HBOs ARLISS for two seasons, and have worked on Disney's KIM POSSIBLE.
In comics, they have written a wide array of genres, including SKINWALKER, THREE STRIKES, MARIA'S WEDDING, THE TOMB, and PLAY BALL for Oni Press. They also collaborated with Rashida Jones to create the Oni miniseries FRENEMY OF THE STATE, which was optioned by Imagine Entertainment and Universal Studios. Two of their projects have been developed for television - BAD MEDICINE (developed at NBC) and THE AMY DEVLIN MYSTERIES (developed at E!). Their superhero comic credits include NEW MUTANTS, NEW X-MEN, ADVENTURES OF SUPERMAN, CHECKMATE and BATMAN CONFIDENTIAL. They have also worked in the field of manga, adapting numerous series from Del Rey, and creating four Original English Language Manga series for Seven Seas Entertainment, DESTINY'S HAND, AMAZING AGENT LUNA and its spinoff AMAZING AGENT JENNIFER, and the modern horror romance DRACULA EVERLASTING. They also wrote the comic adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s THE CURIOUS CASE OF BENJAMIN BUTTON, for Quirk Books, a comic tie in to the movie JUMPER (JUMPSCARS), and an original manga tying into BAKUGAN: BATTLE BRAWLERS (THE EVO TOURNAMENT). They most recently wrote for a run of comics for Dark Horse, tying into Bioware’s award winning DRAGON AGE fantasy game series. This started with DRAGON AGE: KNIGHT ERRANT, and ran through DRAGON AGE: DECEPTION, DRAGON AGE: BLUE WRAITH, and concluded in 2021 with DRAGON AGE: DARK FORTRESS.
Their work has been included three times on the Young Adult Library Services Association’s Great Graphic Novel List for teens, for the first volume of AVALON CHRONICLES, for AMAZING AGENT JENNIFER, and for BENJAMIN BUTTON. Their work has also been nominated for the list two other times. In addition, they made the Amelia Bloomer Project’s List of Feminist Literature for PLAY BALL.
They have developed a TV series at Disney, feature films with Humble Journey Films and Process Media, a TV Movie at Oxygen, and a videogame with Sony.
They are also currently looking to enter the world of prose fiction, and have finished two novels. But their newest project is the upcoming narrative podcast CHEATING HISTORY, created and written with Jenny Sterner.
