Who are we?

WEIPO is a research group interested in the study of the economy of well-being, inequality and economic poverty in a broad sense, including theoretical debates on methodological aspects linked to their measurement, empirical studies on income distribution in a variety of countries, evaluation of social and labour market policies, and the analysis of aspects related to equity in all areas of the economy.

The members of the group have published papers on inequality, poverty, income mobility, insecurity, the intergenerational transmission of opportunities, gender discrimination and the evaluation of the distributional impact of taxes and public policies and their reforms.

The main objective of the group is to broaden existing knowledge in this field of economics by stimulating high-quality research, organizing activities such as international seminars or conferences, training young researchers, and disseminating the latest results to the scientific and political community.
