Prospective Ph.D. Students

Professor Weinan Gao from Mechanical Engineering is recruiting a Ph.D. student on Control and Robotics in Spring 2021.

Dr. Gao is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical and Civil Engineering at Florida Institute of Technology. His research interests are control , optimization, machine learning and their applications to robotics, autonomous vehicles, and power systems.

The students satisfying the following requirements are encouraged to apply

1. Receive a BS and/or MS degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automation or related majors

2. Have good understanding of control theory (including classical control, and modern control techniques in state-space), and mathematics (linear algebra and differential equations)

3. Proficient in computer programming such as Matlab, Python and C++
