About Me
I am a tenure-track Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering (ECE) at Boston University (BU). My research interests are in machine learning, computer vision, and their applications in recognition, autonomous driving, Imageomics (biology & ecology), healthcare, etc.
Before joining BU, I spent 6.5 wonderful years at the Ohio State University (OSU), where I was an Associate Professor (with tenure) in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE). I was also the advisor of the OSU AI Club and the Buckeye AutoDrive Team for the SAE AutoDrive Challenge II.
Before joining OSU, I was a Postdoctoral Associate in Computer Science at Cornell University, working with Kilian Weinberger, Mark Campbell, and Bharath Hariharan.
Before that, I did my Ph.D. in Computer Science at the University of Southern California (USC). My adviser was Fei Sha, and I had a great time working with many excellent people in the TEDS lab. Earlier, I obtained an MS degree in Communication Engineering from National Taiwan University and a BS degree in Communication Engineering from National Chiao Tung University.
