Rain & Thunder Activities in Tamil Nadu
Today rain with lightning strikes are possible over Jharkhand, Bihar and Gangetic West Bengal.
Scattered rain may be seen over Arunachal Pradesh with isolated rainfall over Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura.
Rain is possible over parts of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Puducherry and Lakshadweep.

Wet and Snowy Weather Condition Likely
Possibility of Rain and Snow in Western Himalayas
The winter season is unique in many ways. January witnessed significantly high frequency of Western disturbances. Overall, seven Western Disturbances approached the Western Himalayas, out of which three were strong.
Another western disturbances, although feeble in nature will approach Western Himalayas on February 13. Light rain and snow is possible until February 15. Two more back to back systems are expected between February 16 and 20. There are chances of scattered light to moderate rain and snow over Gilgit-Balistan, Muzaffarabad, Ladakh, Jammu Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand between February 16 and 20.
These Western disturbances will not be strong enough to have a significant impact over Northern Plains.. Minimums may increase marginally during the approach and fall after the passage of these weather systems.

Today, light to moderate rain and snowfall are possible over upper reaches of Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh.
Scattered light to moderate rain may occur over Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, South Tamil Nadu and Southern parts of Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
Light rain is possible over Lakshadweep. Minimum temperatures over Eastern parts of the country made drop further.

Rain, Snow and Hail in Western Himalayas
February to end on a Snowy Note
The month of February has been a good one in terms one in terms of winter systems which have been more frequent .
Rain and snow will be more today and tomorrow, reducing a little on February 24 and significantly reducing on February 24 and significantly reducing on February 25 and 26. The peak intensity will be today and tomorrow. February 26 will see isolated activity with weather finding clearance on February 27.
Parts of Jammu and Kashmir including Srinagar, Gulmarg, Pahalgam, poonch, Kupwara will see more weather activity. The severity of these activities will be the highest over Jammu and Kashmir, followed by Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh and the least over Uttarakhand.
Hailstorm activities are expected over Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Along with this, landslides and mudslides may be seen over the higher reaches resulting in traffic blockages for shorter durations, heavy snowfall may cause some disruption today and tomorrow as well.
