Why This Project Was Created
Sometimes life feels heavy and we all need a little joy. Weekend with a Gnome started with that simple thought: something fun, light, and a little weird to make people smile.
It all began when I made a few wooden gnomes for my yard. I’m no expert, but woodworking helps me slow down and focus. It’s my way to unplug and just make something with my hands.
One day at work, I joked, “I think I’m gonna gnome the whole town.” We laughed, but I kind of meant it. I kept building gnomes, mushrooms, tiny projects that made me feel calm and happy.
And the more I talked about it, the more I saw how much joy it brought. That spark turned into something real and here we are.
Hi, I’m Courtney. I love bringing creative ideas to life and finding simple ways to spark connection. In my work and studies, self-care is a big deal, and Weekend with a Gnome quickly became mine, something fun, light, and meaningful.
It started as a way to mix everything I love: creativity, connection, and community. It’s a reminder to slow down, laugh a little, and enjoy the silly stuff that makes life better.
Now it’s grown into something I love sharing. Earl Elderberry (our very official Gnome HQ Manager) helps me keep track of gnome adventures, collect stories, and dream up what’s next.
My hope is simple: I want people to feel connected, cared for, and part of something joyful. Whether you’re journaling your weekend with a gnome, sharing silly pictures, or surprising someone with a gnome delivery—we believe these moments matter.
This project is about small things making a big impact. It’s about joy, self-care, and reminding each other that we’re all part of the magic.
