Bud Bar Inc. (“Bud Bar”, “we”, “us” or “our”) operates licensed cannabis retail stores and a cannabis e-commerce and delivery service in Calgary, Alberta. We are committed to protecting the privacy of every person who visits our website, shops in our stores, or uses our pickup and delivery services. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, disclose and protect personal information in accordance with the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), Alberta’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA), the Cannabis Act, and the requirements of Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis (AGLC).
Our website and services are intended only for residents of Alberta who are 18 years of age or older. We are licensed to sell cannabis in Alberta and do not sell or ship cannabis products outside the province.

You must be at least 18 years of age to access our website, enter our stores, or purchase cannabis from us, in accordance with Alberta law and AGLC regulations.
To meet these requirements we verify age in the following ways:
An age gate on our website asks you to confirm you are 18 or older before browsing.
Before completing an in-store, pickup or delivery purchase, we require valid government issued photo identification to confirm your identity and age.
For delivery and pickup, our staff or drivers verify your identification at the point of handover.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 18. We inspect identification to confirm age and identity but do not retain copies of your ID beyond what is required for compliance and record keeping. If you believe we hold information about a minor, please contact our Privacy Officer and we will take prompt steps to delete it.
We collect personal information you provide when you create an account, place an order for pickup or delivery, verify your age and identity, join the Best Buds Club loyalty program, contact us, leave a product review or comment, or subscribe to our emails and deals. This may include your name, date of birth, email address, phone number, delivery address, order history, loyalty account activity, and the details shown on the government issued identification we are required to inspect.
When you place an order we collect the information needed to fulfill it, including the products ordered, your selected store location, your pickup or delivery preference, and your delivery address. Payment is processed at the point of sale or at delivery. We do not store full payment card numbers on our systems.
When you visit our website we and our analytics partners automatically collect technical and behavioral data, including your IP address and approximate location, browser type and language, device type and operating system, the pages and products you view, time spent on each page, your navigation path, referring website or search source, and your interactions with forms and the shopping cart. We use Microsoft Clarity to record mouse movements, clicks and scroll behavior to help us improve website usability. This data is collected through cookies, pixels, tags and similar technologies.
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Account and loyalty program data: retained while your account remains active, then deleted or anonymized within a reasonable period.
Age and identity verification records: retained only as required to demonstrate compliance with the Cannabis Act and AGLC regulations.
Website analytics data: as configured per platform (Google Analytics default is 26 months; Microsoft Clarity recordings 30 days by default).
Marketing subscription data: until you unsubscribe or request deletion.
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website, we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
Under PIPEDA and Alberta’s PIPA you have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you, request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information, withdraw consent (subject to legal or contractual restrictions), and request deletion of personal information we are not required to retain for legal, accounting or regulatory purposes.
