Muskoseepi Park—named from the Cree word for "Bear Creek"—is a vibrant green corridor stretching over 1,100 acres through the heart of Grande Prairie. Established in 1986 and created with the support of the Heritage Trust Fund, the park offers an immersive all-season experience that combines natural beauty, cultural heritage, and community connection.
Muskoseepi Park is divided into six distinct areas—bear Creek North, Reservoir, Centennial, Corridor, South, and Crystal Lake—connected by nearly 20 kilometres of paved and natural trails. Each section offers unique landscapes, from rugged wilderness to manicured recreational spaces.
This park truly shines year-round. In summer, enjoy hiking, biking, picnicking, disc golf, fishing in the pavilion pond, and paddling in the reservoir. Come winter, transition to skating, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, and sledding—making it a full-time outdoor playground.
Centennial Park hosts family-focused facilities including playgrounds, a splash pool, tennis and lawn bowling courts, disc golf areas, horseshoe pits, and picnic shelters. The Ernie Radbourne Pavilion is the hub for community events, rentals, and educational programming.
The Bear Creek Corridor and Crystal Lake areas are natural sanctuaries where wildlife like deer, moose, and trumpeter swans thrive. Ideal for hikers, bird watchers, and nature lovers, this part of the park offers a serene escape from urban life.
Trails here range from paved urban loops to rugged natural paths, catering to walkers, runners, cyclists, and even inline skaters. The popular Muskoseepi Trail forms an 8.6-mile circuit that's both scenic and conveniently located.
The park comes alive with seasonal celebrations like Canada Day, Heritage Day, and the Bear Creek Folk Music Festival. The hilltop amphitheater draws crowds for concerts, festivals, and movie nights, emphasizing the park’s vibrant community spirit.
Sports enthusiasts can enjoy lawn bowling, tennis, volleyball, disc golf, and on-ice skating. The park supports both structured sports and casual activities, such as frisbee and off-leash dog play—ideal for active residents.
Located at 10326 102 Ave, Muskoseepi is centrally accessible via multiple entry points. Ample parking, easy transit routes, paved paths, and well-marked signage make the park welcoming and user-friendly for everyone.
Muskoseepi Park embodies Grande Prairie's spirit with its blend of culture, nature, recreation, and community. Whether you're seeking adventure, relaxation, or family fun, this expansive urban oasis delivers. Explore trails, attend festivals, or simply relax by the pond—it’s the perfect destination no matter the season.
