How and why eBus? – Our Story

eBus Zambia is a brainchild of three Engineers who themselves having traveled the country on buses have faced various challenges such as;

• having missed a bus because of being stuck in traffic or the tickets getting sold out just when someone got to the station.

• Not knowing which buses are available and being bothered by the call boys that always claim the bus they are representing will be starting off soon.

• Challenges buying tickets for the same bus for a group of people.

• Inability to buy tickets from anywhere apart from the bus station or the bus booth in transit stations.

• Inability to book a bus ticket in advance.

• The discomfort of not getting a preferred seat

With these and many common frustrations our small team with our diverse expertise decided to look for the best solution that could be able to suit the local market and still maintain the smooth running of the bus operators. Over the past few years, we have worked, researched, and are continuously perfecting our application which is a world class product.

eBus features

Customizable application

For the first time on the market, we have developed an application that can be customised to meet client and operator preferences. We understand that every bus operator has a unique way of doing business and may want to keep their trading details within their company. In this regard we can brand, advertise, create features that an operator would want their customers to see while using the app. This means the creativity of the operator has a place in the way in which the app looks and behaves thus giving operator the feel of ownership.

Introducing the eBus Manager

eBus Zambia was designed with the bus users in mind but then the team thought…. What about the bus operators? How do we ensure that their business is not affected negatively in any way and how could we improve their current way of doing business?

Through further research and market analysis, the team developed an eBus Manager app. This is more than any other bus ticketing app but it is a game changer in the transportation industry. It works asynchronously with the eBus Zambia app and is a full stack business management app.

We have introduced analytics and reporting systems that make it easy for any bus operator to know and understand exactly how each bus is performing, which routes are profitable and the overall annual, monthly and weekly sales for any bus or all the buses!

So who can use eBus?

eBus is for anyone who is travelling to any part of the country. If the bus service the customer is using is on the eBus Zambia app, they will be able to book and travel as they wish.

Our clientele is heavily dependent on users of the app as well as bus operators. Our system is all inclusive and can easily be customised to suit what any operator’s needs.  We have a platform where all operators can be searched and booked on one common platform. However, for clients that want to have an independent system, we package and brand the application or develop any application to the client’s needs.
