Western Connecticut Association for Human Rights, WeCAHR

 ****IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT****

June 20, 2023

Dear WeCAHR Friends, Supporters and Clients,

It is with great regret that we must inform you that WeCAHR will be closing its doors and ceasing its operations effective June 30, 2023.

Since its inception in 1977 WeCAHR has been dedicated to advocating for the rights and welfare of individuals with disabilities and their families. Over the years, we have strived to create inclusive environments, provide support and resources, and promote education, awareness and acceptance of individuals with neurodiversities. However, due to circumstances and challenges beyond our control, sustaining the organization has become increasingly difficult.

WeCAHR’s journey has been a remarkable one, filled with countless achievements and positive impacts on the lives of thousands of individuals. We have collaborated with community organizations, worked closely with government bodies, and forged invaluable partnerships to champion the rights of people with disabilities. Together, we have fought for accessibility, equality, and inclusion, ensuring that the voices of those often marginalized are heard and respected.

The decision to close WeCAHR was not made lightly, and it is one that brings a sense of profound sadness to all of us involved in the organization. We would like to express our deepest gratitude to all our supporters, donors, volunteers, staff, and community members who have been an integral part of this incredible journey. Your unwavering support and commitment have been instrumental in our endeavors, and we are eternally grateful for your generosity, time, and dedication.

If you have any questions or require further information, please do not hesitate to contact us via email ccalsped@gmail.com. We would be more than happy to assist you and provide any necessary clarification.

With heartfelt thanks and warm regards,

The WeCAHR Board
