Rio Fluids

Conference description

The II Rio de Janeiro Fluid Mechanics Symposium (Rio Fluids) will be held at the PUC-Rio (Centro Loyola https://www.centroloyola.puc-rio.br/) on Saturday, June 13, 2026.

The conference aims to bring together researchers from Rio de Janeiro working across all areas of fluid dynamics for a one-day meeting in an informal, collaborative atmosphere.

To promote education and exposure, talks are invited from graduate students and postdocs, as well as from undergraduates pursuing research.

Faculty and other undergraduate students are highly encouraged to attend. 

Abstract submission format

Word and LaTeX formats are provided in the Abstract Submission page. Please edit accordingly and following the submission instructions. Abstracts must contain a maximum of 1500 characters and be written in English, without exceptions.

Presentation format

Contributed talks are limited to 13 minutes, including Q&A and transition to the next talk.  Slides in English. Presentation in either Portuguese or English.

Tentative program schedule

We are planning the event for a single-room presentation. Due to time restrictions, we will be accepting up to approximately 30 Abstracts for presentation. Priority will be given to presentations from Masters and Doctoral students. On-site coffee-break and lunch will be offered. Roundtable discussion at the end about the event and its future.

• Notification of abstract acceptance: May 15, 2026

• Registration open: May 15, 2026 - June 10, 2026

• Symposium: June 13, 2026
