Second, if they are paying you before they even start working, what are they planning to do to you if they do take on your website? Hundreds of dollars per question that you have? Thousands for every page that you want to modify on your site? In the long run you may end up spending much more than you anticipated.

Imagine that you had a question about whether a medicine that you are taking will negatively interact with another medication you were prescribed. You called your local pharmacy to ask a simple yes or no question. They charged you $100.00 just to speak with a pharmacist, regardless of their ability to answer your question.
