WebShot HD is a Chrome extension that allows users to capture screenshots of webpages, including the current browser view, selected areas, and full webpages.
Data Processing
WebShot HD does not collect, sell, or transfer personal information, browsing history, or captured screenshots to the developer or any third-party server.
When a user starts a screenshot, the extension temporarily accesses the active webpage solely to perform the requested screenshot operation. Webpage content used to create the screenshot is processed locally in the user's browser.
Captured screenshots are saved to the user's computer only when the user explicitly requests a screenshot.
Permissions
WebShot HD uses the following permissions:
activeTab: Provides temporary access to the webpage in the active tab after the user invokes the extension.
debugger: Used during a user-requested screenshot to access Chrome's DevTools Protocol for high-resolution and full-page screenshot rendering. The debugger connection is detached after the capture is completed.
scripting: Used to run the screenshot and area-selection functionality on the active webpage when requested by the user.
downloads: Used to save screenshots to the user's computer after the user requests a capture.
WebShot HD does not use persistent host permissions to monitor or access websites in the background.
Third-Party Services
WebShot HD does not use advertising networks, analytics services, tracking services, or third-party servers to process screenshots or webpage content.
Data Security
Because screenshot processing is performed locally, webpage content and screenshots are not uploaded to a WebShot HD server.
