Mª de Lourdes Pereira, PhD

Mª de Lourdes Pereira got her PhD in Biology at he University of Aveiro. She was President of the Portuguese Society of Electron Microscopy and Cell Biology (2004), Director of the Master on Molecular and Cell Biology at University of Aveiro (2008-2018), and Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine (2021). Research has been focused on in vitro and in vivo interactions of male reproductive cells with chromium compounds, metal-based nanoparticles, combining histological, ultrastructural, and cell biology approaches; obesogens and natural compounds to alleviate obesity-associated reproductive effects on male rats are in current studies. She co-authored several book chapters, and papers in international journals, and has been OCM of several International Conferences and editorial board member of some journals, acting also as referee.
