Susana Loureiro, PhD

Susana Loureiro is an Assistant Professor with Habilitation at University of Aveiro (UAVR), Portugal. Her area of expertise is ecotoxicology, but during the last years she has devoted some interest towards biomonitoring studies and mixture toxicity prediction related to human toxicology. The mercury transfer from mother to newborn in a population of pregnant woman from the center Portugal and the use of biomarkers of exposure and effects were the starting point in the environmental toxicology research area, and nowadays she is looking at the modes of action of mercury, related to human fertility using the zebrafish model.
