A member of the Belgian Tervuren Club of Southern California, Kimberly Buchanan and her Belgian Tervuren Oscar were one of the first teams to title in the then brand new sport, earning NW1 and NW2 titles.
She and her Terv Emmy were the very first team to have earned the challenging NW3 title as well as the first to have earned the NW3 Elite title in 2011. Kim’s dogs are currently trialing towards their K9NW ELT-CH, NW3-Elite and two are now working towards their NW2 titles!
A founding member of NACSW™ and one of the original 7 Certified Nose Work Instructors, NACSW trial judge and Certifying Official, Kimberly has been training since 2007, competing in K9 Nose Work® since its inception and teaching since 2009.
She teaches K9 Nose Work® classes, offers online classes for scentwork enthusiasts and continuing education for other instructors. Through her company, Joyride K9 Dog Training, she hosts other scentwork activities in Southern California. She is enthusiastically helping to bring the sport of nosework to the US and internationally as Senior Faculty with the National Association of Canine Scent Work, LLC®.
