Looking for an answer to this as well. The link above takes you to the Cisco page walking through a single user uninstall, but does not provide details from a deployment stand point. We are working to run the newest version of WebEx Desktop Meetings app as well as the now split out WebEx Productivity Tools. Best practice would be to remove any older versions, however other than manually removing it, I am not locating a good method for removing before installing. I have tried creating a .pkg file using composer to do the remove, but it doesn't seem to work.

We added this today, but please see below:

NOTE: Due to issues with auto-removal of older versions of WebEx Meetings, this update will only upgrade version 39.8.0.854 or newer of WebEx Meetings

Hi All,

We started running some in-depth testing on this product. It seems it won't successfully update previous versions unless the previous version is manually uninstalled before the latest MSI is run.

In our test, the new update fails with the following line in the MSI:

Property(S): AppRunning_Warning = You must close the following applications before uninstalling Cisco Webex Meetings Desktop App:

Logs attached. Please let us know if anyone knows a command line or option that allows the upgrade to auto-remove previous versions successfully only using the latest MSI.

We will be marking this as INCOMPATIBLE for now.

Uninstallation must use the original installation package for the first time, even when the Webex Meetings desktop app gets updated to a later version after mass deployment. If there are multiple versions, you need to perform an uninstallation for each version currently installed

The problem is it looks like with each new version of webex that came out, the MSI/product ID changed, so on my test bench with several different computers/versions, i'm almost always getting "This is only valid for products currently installed".

i managed to find webex removal tool from the below link but it cannot run silently. anyone happen to know is there any other webex removal tool that will run silently or have any script that will remove all webex from system cleanly??

As of last week, webex meeting had an update which broke all old VDI plugins, even windows ones. With windows we had to force all our users to download and update to latest version of vdi plugin from webex download site, that fixed it. With Dell 3040 thin clients we're stuck with webex saying "mse::VDIService::initialize4HVDClient, VDI client is not a compatible version, start normal Webex meeting!"

Tried downloading vdi plugin "for ThinOS 9.1" from webex downloads, it is an .ipk file which is not recognized as application file by WMS. Had a case opened with them too, so far I have trouble explaining that our thin clients do not have any CLI interface where I can execute *nix commands.

1. New webex meeting plugin (pkg) works only with webex meeting app version 41.3 or lower. You can test it if you install webexapp.msi of older version (41.3 preferably) and delete autoupdates in %localappdata%\Webex right before starting the meeting (so webex don't have time to download new version). Video and audio works, vdi plugin works. Unfortunately it will download 41.4 version automatically and you can't do anything about it.

Our solution for "Connecting audio" loop was to open direct internet access from thin client VLAN to specific webex cloud IP ranges. See "How Do I Allow Webex Meetings Traffic on My Network?" in their help, sadly I can't post url links here

IP ranges are mentioned there, we opened access to all of them since this was recommended (instead of opening only IP range in your country). As far as I remember we opened ports 443, udp 9000 and maybe those "Alternate Webex Client Media" ports, nothing else. It all worked for a week then webex meetings 41.4 came out and now everything is dead.

Hi all, can somebody provide me a link where to download the older version 41.3? I also have the same mentioned problem but I only have 41.4 version of the webex vdi app which does not work with mit 5070 ThinOS 9.1.x

The customer wants to be able to check and download older versions of our applications for testing purposes. Right now, he can contact us and we can look up for a site with the needed version, but it will be easier for the customer to have a link / list with the older versions.

The CEO figured that, since the majority of digital startups were founded by people 35 and younger, millennials could help the company culture be more agile. He hired 13 new employees and instituted a grand reverse of the cherished idea of mentoring, one in which the younger employees also served as experts and the older generation became both mentors and students.

We have around 3800 users and 170 users in our test audience. What we have found so far is that wireless connections are no longer as stable as they had been previously on the the older client with customers reporting more frequent tunnel drops.

Now when I try to reinstall/install again the Cisco WebEx Connect program it says it is still installed. I search the registry for all traces of "Cisco", "webex", etc. and removed their keys. (only two were found)
