Web Table to Excel Toolbox ("the extension") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains our data practices, values, and how we handle your information when you use our Chrome extension.
1. Data Collection & Processing
• Zero Data Collection: We do not collect, capture, store, log, track, or share any personal information, browsing history, website URLs, credentials, or sensitive data.
• 100% Local Execution: All operations—including HTML table detection, DOM inspection, data cleaning, text normalization, and Excel (.xlsx) file generation—are executed entirely within your browser's local memory (client-side) via SheetJS.
• No External Data Transmission: None of the extracted content or tabular data is ever transmitted to external servers, cloud databases, or third-party APIs.
2. Permissions Usage & Justification
The extension requests only the minimum necessary permissions required to deliver its core functionality:
• activeTab & scripting: Used exclusively to inspect and extract HTML <table> elements from the active tab when the user explicitly clicks the "Scan" or "Export" action. It operates strictly on-demand and does not monitor background browsing.
• downloads: Used solely to trigger the browser's native download dialog to save the locally generated Excel (.xlsx) file directly to your local storage.
• storage: Used strictly via chrome.storage.local to preserve non-sensitive user preferences (such as custom export configurations and UI toggle states) locally across sessions.
3. Third-Party Services & Remote Code
• No Tracking or Analytics: The extension does not integrate any third-party tracking scripts, telemetry, analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics), or advertising frameworks.
• No Remote Code: The extension does not load or execute remote hosted code. All libraries (including SheetJS) are completely bundled within the local extension package.
4. Data Security
Because all processing is performed entirely on your local machine and no data is transmitted externally, your web data remains completely confidential and under your direct control.
