Web File Explorer is designed to operate strictly on your local network (LAN / Wi-Fi).

• No Cloud Servers: We do not collect, transmit, store, or process your files, photos, videos, or personal data on external servers, cloud services, or third-party databases.

• Direct Transfer: When you view, download, or upload files using the App, the data travels directly between your Android device and the connected web browser (e.g., your PC) via your local Wi-Fi router.

• We have no access to your files or your network traffic.

2. Permissions Required and Why

To function as a file manager and local web server, the App requires the following Android permissions:

• All Files Access / Manage External Storage:

  • Why we need it: The core purpose of this App is to allow you to browse, manage, download, and upload files to your Android device from a PC. To do this, the App needs permission to read and write files across your device's storage.

  • How it is used: Exclusively to display your files in the web interface and allow you to perform file operations (copy, move, delete, upload) at your direct command.

• Wi-Fi / Network State Access:

  • Why we need it: To determine your device's local IP address (e.g., 192.168.x.x) so the App can generate the URL and QR Code required to connect your PC to your phone.

• Foreground Service & Ignore Battery Optimizations:

  • Why we need it: To keep the local web server running smoothly and prevent Android from killing the file transfer process when your phone screen turns off.

3. Data Collection and Tracking

We do not collect any personal information.

• There are no tracking scripts, analytics, or advertisements embedded in the App that report back to us.

• Security Monitor (Local Logging): The App displays the IP addresses of devices (like your PC) that connect to your phone. This information is processed locally in your device's RAM to allow you to block unauthorized users. This IP data is never sent to us or any third party, and it is cleared when you close the server.

4. Security

We value your trust in providing us access to your files. The App includes built-in security features, such as:

• An optional Password Protection system to prevent unauthorized access on your local network.

• A Live Security Monitor allowing you to instantly block unrecognized devices.

• However, please remember that no method of transmission over a local Wi-Fi network is 100% secure. We strongly recommend using the password feature when connected to public or shared Wi-Fi networks.

5. Third-Party Services

The App utilizes open-source libraries (such as NanoHTTPD for the local server and ZXing for QR code generation). These libraries operate entirely offline and do not collect data on our behalf.
