Shine my light

When I was a child I hated my hair

Climbing a mountains something I wouldn't dare

I just felt so lost and alone

didn't realize how bright I shone

When I felt like this I cried valleys and lakes

felt like I kept making mistakes

Something just felt so off inside me

I realized I need to be free

Now I see how great I am

Now I know to make a plan

Finally the world feels bright

Now that I can shine my light

Conversing with my inner teen

Inside I had been so mean

Inner critic was so loud

but now it’s time to make myself proud
