Activity 1: Science Experiment
Goal: Students will be able to predict what will happen to the balloons when put into hot and cold water.
Materials:

2 9x13 glass pans or large clear plastic bins
1 empty 20 oz or larger plastic bottle
1 balloon wrapped over top of empty bottle
Hot water in one bin and ice water in the other
Instructions:
Instructions:
Distribute bins or glass pans each pair having one bin filled part way with ice water and the other with hot water
Ask students what reaction the balloon will have in the cold water vs hot water
Give each table group the empty water bottle with the balloon over the rim
Allow each student to take turns
