Weather AG ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and disclose your information when you use our mobile application (the "App").

1.1 Location Data

Weather AG is a weather and marine utility. To provide you with accurate local weather forecasts, water temperatures, and sea distance information, we require access to your device's location.

* Approximate & Precise Location: We collect your precise location (GPS and network-based) while the App is in use.

* Purpose: This data is used solely to fetch weather data from our providers and to calculate your distance to the nearest coastline.

* Background Location: If you use our Home Screen Widget or Notifications, we process location data in the background to provide real-time updates without the app being open.

1.2 Device Information & IDs

*We may collect basic device information such as your operating system version and device model to ensure App compatibility and performance.

* We may collect information about the device you use, including the hardware model, operating system version, and unique device identifiers such as the Android Advertising ID (used by AdMob).

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information for the following purposes:

* To provide and maintain the App's core functionality.

* To fetch localized weather and marine data.

* To calculate the distance to the sea using AI services.

3. Third-Party Services

Our App integrates with third-party service providers who may collect or process your data:

* Google Play Services: Used for location retrieval and App functionality. Google's Privacy Policy.

* Open-Meteo API: Used to fetch weather and marine data based on your coordinates.

* Google Gemini AI: We may send anonymized coordinates (latitude/longitude) to Google Gemini to calculate coastal distances. No personally identifiable information (PII) is sent to this service.

* Google AdMob: Used to serve advertisements in the free version of the app. AdMob may collect and use Device IDs and interaction data to serve ads. 

4. Data Retention

We do not maintain user accounts or personal profiles on our own  servers. Your location is used in real-time to fetch data and is only cached locally on your device to improve App performance. You can clear this cache and any preferences (units, saved locations) are stored locally on your device and are cleared if you uninstall the app.

5. Your Choices and Controls

* Location Permissions: You can grant or revoke location permissions at any time through your device settings. If you revoke permissions, certain features (like local weather) will not function.

* App Deletion: You can stop all collection of information by the App by uninstalling it.

6. Security

We value your trust in providing us your information, thus we are striving to use commercially acceptable means of protecting it. But remember that no method of transmission over the internet, or method of electronic storage is 100% secure and reliable.

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.
