Life on the Farm

After several years of searching today Josh and I are closing on this beautiful 1803 Colonial. Located in Cooperstown Ny, what was Adalaide Inn for the past twenty years will now become W.E.Farm. It will continue operating as a B&B while the farm aspect of it is developing. We hope in the next ten years to be a U-pick apple orchard, a U-cut Christmas tree farm, and a U-pick strawberry farm as well as breeders of Working line German shepherds and Friesians. I've always wanted a farm/ranch for as long as I can remember. As a five year old I would draft up my farm layout. Dividing the whiteboard into sections, so many acres for cattle, so many acres for hay, this plot of land was set aside for an orchard, designing my barn, laying out the plans for the garden. And thanks to my amazing and loving husband this dream is becoming a reality. Years of hard work, joy, frustration, triumphs, failures, and memories are ahead of us and I can't wait to conquer it with my strong supportive husband and our family.

So we purchased the farm in March of 2017 and since then, we have moved from Germany to the farm, purchased 8 Dexter Cows, 3 Mares, and 3 German Shepherds. We have also had 2 foals, 4 calves and 6 pups born as well as our second son. Planted 1 acre of Christmas Trees and a half acre of Strawberries, fenced in multiple acres of land, built horse stalls and this has just been the first 21 months and so far we are loving it.
